What’s a girl to do with her unruly dog, a rogue chicken, and a foster bunny named Stew? Caity Shaw is settling into her new life in Dublin. She is now juggling two event planner jobs, but she hopes the family clan gathering she is organizing will launch her genealogy business. Over the past year, Caity has transformed from an insecure victim of emotional abuse into a confident woman thanks largely to Declan, her Irish boyfriend. When Declan accepts a caretaker position at the home of her Coffey family’s archenemy, Caity and Declan’s relationship becomes strained. Even her faithful companion Mac abandons her in Dublin for life in the country. Caity goes to Killybog to try to mend their relationship, but she unexpectedly takes over the caretaker duties. Mischievous animals and a mysterious man searching for an abandoned IRA hideout are just a few of the challenges she faces. When a popular soap opera films at her uncle’s home, Caity’s sister Rachel hopes to get the English estate out of massive debt by organizing a slew of fan events while also planning a family wedding. Once again, Caity’s dream of becoming a genealogist is put on hold. That is until she takes on a wealthy but unsavory genealogy client. As Caity tracks the family’s history, and the client disputes the nefarious findings, Caity finds herself in a real-life soap opera!

The book chronicles almost 300 in-season changes of managers in the major leagues since 1900. It elaborates on the circumstances that led to the change, whether it was a firing or a resignation and includes, in many cases, remarks of the dismissed manager, the manager who replaced him, and the executive (owner or general manager) who orchestrated the change. It then examines how the team fared under the new manager. The central purpose of the book is to study the effects of the changes: how many had a positive impact, how many had a negative impact, and how many had little if any impact on the team’s won-lost record.

Brown--actor, singer, comedian, and author--did not have parents. Instead, he was raised by an assortment of wise-aleck bunnies, lisping ducks, one-eyed sailors, friendly ghosts, future-men, cave-men, six-year-old robots, and mice. Throughout his childhood, these Kartoon-Karetakers generously imparted their experience, strength, and hope, such that Brown could stride boldly into adulthood and go on to lead a balanced and well-adjusted life. 132 pp.

The delightful follow-up to When Dimple Met Rishi and There’s Something about Sweetie, which follows Ashish’s friends Pinky and Samir as they pretend to date in order to achieve their individual goals, to disastrous and hilarious results. Pinky Kumar wears the social justice warrior badge with pride. From raccoon hospitals to persecuted rock stars, no cause is too esoteric for her to champion. But a teeny tiny part of her also really enjoys making her conservative, buttoned-up corporate lawyer parents cringe. Samir Jha might have a few…quirks remaining from the time he had to take care of his sick mother, like the endless lists he makes in his planner and the way he schedules every minute of every day, but those are good things. They make life predictable and steady. Pinky loves lazy summers at her parents’ Cape Cod lake house, but after listening to them harangue her about the poor decisions she’s made (a.k.a. boyfriends she’s had), she hatches a plan. Get her sorta-friend-sorta-enemy—who is a total Harvard-bound Mama’s boy—to pose as her perfect boyfriend for the summer. When Samir’s internship falls through, leaving him with an unplanned summer, he gets a text from Pinky asking if he’ll be her fake boyfriend in exchange for a new internship. He jumps at the opportunity; Pinky’s a weirdo, but he can survive a summer with her if there’s light at the end of the tunnel. As they bicker their way through lighthouses and butterfly habitats, sparks fly, and they both realize this will be a summer they'll never forget.

Pinky, A Memoir of WWII, is the first of four volumes about a young man who couldn't wait to join the U. S. Navy and go to the Pacific. In this volume T. J. Thiggens is sixteen when Japan bombed Pearl Harbor. He agrees with his mother to complete the school year 1942-1943 if she will sign his enlistment papers. He goes through boot camp at Farragut, Idaho, and is transferred to Shoemaker, California, to await orders to ship overseas. On his eighteenth birthday he boards the SS Eugene Skinner for the South Pacific; and after 23 days he arrived in New Caledonia. There he attends a Fleet Radio School, works for a time at the COMSOPAC Service Squadron; and, after almost a year on this island, he finally gets a transfer to a wooden subchaser, which is headed north into the War Zone. There are five subchasers in Noumea Harbor being converted to LCC's (landing craft, communications); and because they each have a Walt Disney cartoon character painted on their bridges, they are nicknamed "MacArthur's Donald Duck Navy". This part of the story about five wooden subchasers ends just as T. J. becomes the 'second' radio on the USS SC-995.
