"Dylan Thomas's 'Under Milk Wood' was selected by the WBN 2019 coordinator Linda Parr for our tribute this year. 47 contributors joined WBN 2019 by reading 'Under Milk Wood' then selecting their ten favourite words to send us. Artists, translators and writers sent their chosen words from Canada, Germany, Israel, The Netherlands, Sweden, the UK and USA. The core group of WBN United Artists returned the words to Wales, visiting Carmarthen and Laugharne in March 2019. After a trip to Dylan Thomas's former home, between us, we jumbled up the words to use as the basis for elements of local small newspaper, the Gwalia Gazette. This is a book intended to bring together all the theatrical figures buried and/or memorialised in Westminster Abbey. Most of them are in Poets’ Corner and the South Transept, but there are others dotted elsewhere around the Abbey and particularly in the Cloisters where Aphra Behn, the playwright, and most of the actresses are congregated. A major feature of the book is the spectacular collection of illustrations in the form of photographs of the monuments from the Abbey archive and portraits kindly provided by the Garrick Club. The text incorporates brief descriptions of the characters interspersed with a variety of more or less relevant (some completely irrelevant, but entertaining) anecdotes.

Portraying themselves as challenging blind religious dogma with evidence-led skepticism, the neo-atheist movement claims that the New Testament contains unreliable tales about a mythical figure who, far from being the resurrected Lord of life, may not even have lived. This comprehensive critique documents the falsehood of these neo-atheist claims, correcting their historical and philosophical mistakes to show how we can get at the truth about the historical Jesus.

"In a city awake on tea and subtitles, / the freshman boys fight off sleep / to hear a bluesman sing at the corner club" -- so begins Michael Miller's "College Town," which served as the title poem for his first book and now provides the title phrase for this retrospective collection. Miller, a former Los Angeles Times journalist and organizer for years of the Muckenthaler Cultural Center's poetry series, published his first poem, "Elegy for a Rhythm Guitarist," in 1999 in the UCI literary journal Faultline. That effort appears in this collection along with 49 other poems, including the Pushcart Prize nominees "The Pool Coach Sings Hallelujah" and "Crossing, Harpers Ferry," the never-published-in-book-form "The Beatles at 80," and three pieces -- "December," "Museum of Tolerance" and "Blues Man" -- that are spotlighted on the Poetry Foundation's website. The newest poem here, also making its book debut, is "Ofrenda for John Gardiner," a tribute to the Southern California poet who died in 2017. In addition to the poems, Tea and Subtitles features a cover by the author's brother, artist Chris Miller, and a foreword by Alabama Poet Laureate Jennifer Horne.
